CHRYSSA TZELEPI
Chryssa Tzelepi works as an independent producer-director in Greece. She studied cinema at the University of Arts in London. Initially, she was involved in creative photography as a photographer and an exhibition curator. She was a member of the group that from 2001 to 2009 organized the first experimental film festival in Greece “Strange Screen”. In 2008, she co-founded with Akis Kersanidis the independent film company anemiCinema. Since then, she has been working at anemiCinema as a director and producer, on documentaries, experimental films and documentary series for television, with a strong presence at both domestic and international festivals. Her recent works are mostly in the field of cultural heritage, contemporary art, and social issues. She is a founding member of the film lab and festival Ζagoriwood, which takes place at the Zagorochoria villages in Epirus. She is a member of the Hellenic Film Academy and the Greek Documentary Association. Her latest film BACK TO EARTH, co-directed with Akis Kersanidis, on creating a sculpture in a public place by ceramic artist Ektoras Mavridis, won the Best Film award from the Greek Association of Film Critics.
