MIRANDA VEROULI
Miranda Verouli was a professional basketball player and won four National Championships with Sporting. After earning her degree in Physical Education from the University of Athens, she studied graphic design in Paris and New York at Parsons School of Design. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), she worked in Rio de Janeiro with the internationally renowned graphic designer Felipe Taborda.
In 2001, she studied jazz improvisation and harmony at the Athenaeum Conservatory. In 2003, she formed her own band, Desafinados, approaching Brazilian repertoire from a jazz perspective. She has sung at Athens Concert Hall, Half Note Jazz Club, Gazarte, among others. She has collaborated with top Greek jazz musicians such as Antonis Andreou, Giorgos Kontrafouris, Petros Klampanis, Andreas Polyzogopoulos, Spyros Manesis and more. In 2018, she released her first personal album "Onírico"
Since 2009, she has participated in the production of the renowned Tinos Jazz Festival, where in 2016 the legendary Brazilian cellist Jaques Morelenbaum was the artistic director, inviting Miranda to join his concerts in Greece that same summer. In 2018, she was awarded for her work by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the title of Knight of the Order of Rio Branco, recognizing her contribution to promoting Brazilian culture in Greece.
