AKIS KERSANIDIS

Akis Kersanidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1963. He graduated from the Evgenia Hatzikou Film School specialising in film direction. Since 1989, and for many years, he worked as a producer and later as a film director and producer for Prosenghisi Film and Video Productions. He produced documentaries, television series, theatrical shows and mixed media shows. Since 1994 he has been involved in education in the field of cinema. For many years, he run the IRIS Audiovisual Observatory and taught film directing at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Film School. From 2001 to 2009, he was the director of the experimental film festival “Strange Screen”. Since 2008, he has been working as a producer and director for ΑnemiCinema. He is a member of the Hellenic Film Academy and the Greek Documentary Association.
