THE TAILOR
Nikos, a 50 year old refined tailor of old-fashioned style, has a hard time keeping alive the dream of the well-dressed aristocracy of the ‘60s. When the bank threatens to close his family’s tailor shop and his elderly father is hospitalized, Nikos takes life into his own hands for the first time in his life. He finds an unorthodox way to bring his art closer to the people of today. This tender and lyrical story portrays the belated coming-of-age of a dreamy tailor, who lives in the tiny attic of his family’s tailor shop. As he transitions from a trapped man to a wandering creator, he finds inspiration in the most unexpected places. The film premiered at the 24th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and the 61st Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, where it won the FIPRESCI Award, the Special Youth Jury Award, and the First ERT Award.
