This year, BRING YOUR CHAIR - COZY FESTIVAL is organizing its first public event in Sifnos after two years of private events. Two short silent films by director Georges Melies, La lune a un metre (1898) and Le voyage dans la lune (1902), will be screened. The films will be accompanied by musical improvisations by Vasilis Papavasileiou on the double bass and Semeli Kostourou on cello. In the second part of the event, the acclaimed mezzo-soprano Victoria Mayfatova will present a selection of songs and romances by Russian composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, accompanied by the renowned pianist Marios Kazas. An evening filled with Russian melodies and intense musical passion that characterizes Russian composers. The event will be hosted by actress Elena Kalaitzi.

VICTORIA MAYFATOVA

The mezzo-soprano Victoria Mayfatova was born in Tashkent. She studied at the National Music Academy Tchaikovsky in Kiev. From 1997 to 2001, she worked in the lyric theaters of Prague, Brno, and Ostrava, and since 2001, she has collaborated with the National Lyric Opera. She has performed at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, the Megaron Music Hall in Thessaloniki, the Ancient Corinth Theatre, and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, as well as in the USA, Canada, France, Spain, Austria, Germany, Japan, Slovakia, and Poland. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Renata Scotto, Luciana Serra, Daniela Barcellona, Dimitris Kavrakos, Dimitra Theodossiou, as well as significant composers and directors. Her repertoire includes, among others, leading roles in operas such as Don Carlo, Samson and Delilah, Rigoletto, Carmen, Aida, etc.
