MOONLIGHT SONGS

With her emotive voice, Elli Paspala will perform songs dedicated to the moon. Songs that have indelibly sealed the history of international music. “Moonlight Songs” is a concert dedicated to August’s full moon, taking place in a unique archaeological site, the Mycenaean Acropolis of Agios Andreas in Sifnos, overlooking the Aegean Sea. Alongside David Lynch on wind instruments and Takis Farazis on piano, Elli's voice will lead us into a magical journey that will breathe life into loves, passions and memories, as only her voice can.

ELLI PASPALA

Elli Paspala was born in New York. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied classical singing with soprano Judith Raskin. Concurrently, she took acting classes with actor William Hickey. She performed numerous concerts throughout North America, featuring both classical and Greek repertoire. Her latest participation includes the opera «Medea» by composer Gavin Bryars, directed by Robert Wilson. In 1982, she came to Greece, met Mikis Theodorakis, and became his primary collaborator until 1988. Her solo discography began the same year with the album «Sti Lamprothi tou Fengariou» while in 1990, she released «Nisi ton Lotofagon», an album that was recorded in London the following year with English lyrics by Laurence Roman, titled «Living a Lie». In 1994, she collaborated for the first time with Stamatis Kraounakis on the album «Mousiki Eikona - Gova Stileto». During the winter of 1995-96, she performed at «Harama», and in the album «Gia ti Synitheia tou Erota», she collaborated with Panagiotis Kalantzopoulos. In «Musiques du Monde», she collaborated with Maria Farantouri and Savina Yannatou. Subsequent albums include «Trio» (2001), a result of her collaboration with David Lynch and Stavros Lantsias, «Se Poio Theo Na Pistevo» (2002), and «O Horos ton Astron» (2007). After numerous concerts and contributions to iconic albums, she continued her journey by collaborating with some of the greatest Greek creators of all generations. In recent years, she has been collaborating with pianist Takis Farazis, interpreting songs by foreign creators such as Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Rufus Wainwright, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and others.
